From September 1-15, 2007, DC will be in Spain for DC King of Barcelona, the third installment of the innovative DC King of series and the first contest outside the United States. DC is proud to announce the premiere European Skate Collection, The European Collective. Inspired by the individual personalities and origin of each team rider on DC's European Skate Team, the range is comprised of a personalized shoe, New Era cap, and t-shirt for each rider. Hitting skate shops exclusively as a part of DC's Spring 2007 line, look for products that were co-created by Ruben Garcia of Spain, Henning Braaten of Norway, Jodi Smith of England, and Petr Horvat of the Czech Republic. Each rider took a style from DC's line then colored it up to their liking, adding personal touches to reflect the country they're from. For example, the lining of Ruben Garcia's Manteca 3 Mid EU features a print of a Spanish street map, his home country. To celebrate the launch of the European Collective we've created a teaser video clip, now live at dcshoes.com. The video has footage of Ruben, Henning, Jodi, and Petr skating all over Europe, and was shot while the guys were traveling from country to country to show off the collection. fan of Super Suede™. I love that stuff. I always look to see what's hot on the streets. I try not to bite any other pro shoes... so most of the ideas are from the designer's heads and mine. We kinda start from a blank shoe then fill in the blanks until it looks just about right. The next skate technology discovery? I'm not sure, but maybe a way to keep shoes from losing their shape. After you skate a shoe for a couple weeks, you have to tighten them up. It would be tight to never have to tighten them. They can just stand strong and never have to be choked up. I wanted to find a way to have a clean look as well as some of the DGT™ on my new shoe, so I used DC's Performance Wrap Cup Sole. It seemed like this was a perfect idea. It makes my foot feel closer to the board and gives me a bit more board control. I believe it's the perfect skate shoe.

European Skate team hitting the rarely toured country of Dubai. Sure, the guys experienced some culture shock when they arrived to the middle east, but what really stood out from the trip as a whole was the huge amount of skatable spots they found in the rapidly developing region... it's like new spots are being built daily!

In the Summer of 2007 DC launched the 13th signature model from Colin McKay. This video clip features footage of the backside smith 180 (at the Encinitas YMCA) that was used for Colin's ad that ran in all the major skate mags. Check out dcshoes.com for more info.

DC will hit spots all over the "City of Angels" for DC's King of Los Angeles contest in the summer of 2007. As in New York, the DC team will descend on spots all over L.A., setting up shop to skate, gather footage, experience the L.A. scene, and once again hold am contests to determine the reigning DC King of Los Angeles. This video teaser features the DC skate team that will be in L.A. during the three week long contest.

The DC Australian Easter Escape ran through the month of April visiting regional areas of country Victoria, and concluding in the city of Melbourne. The tour featured the entire DC Oz Team of Sam Winter, Andrew Currie, Dave Harris, Jim Fowlie, Ryan Baczynski, Karl Bayldon and Kiwi rider Bjorn Johnston. The tour consisted of skatepark demos and late-night street raids.
