Long Live Slalom

Sat, 05/17/2008 - 13:45
This video of the Fluidride Cup #2 Dual Slalom tells that story of grassroots dual slalom. Sure the pros are the stars, but in the local scene, even the fans yelling from the sideline get their 15mins. Some may claim that dual slalom is destined for âFriday nights under the lights.â Who really knows. The truth is, Dual Slalom is fun and itâs making a comeback.

Bike Love: Pimp My Trail Episode

Mon, 02/25/2008 - 19:46

This video has fun with pop culture and bike culture. Itâ a low-key spoof that celebrates the âBike Loveâ? things we do together as riders and friends.

Bike Love is going to be a new video thread @ Bones Over Metal.com that celebrates all things to do with how much we love our bikes. We are not stopping at the pop culture spoofs, you know, âMonster Trail,â? âAmericaâs Next Top Bike Mechanic,â? âAmerican Trail Builder,â? and of course the Spanish one âConstructor de la pistaâ? and the German one âDie Strecke Builder.â? We probably will include some bike porn. Like a whole video on hard tails, and one on the softy and easy DH bikes. So stay tuned. Bones Over Metal is going to bring you all kinds of sentimental bike life stuff.

Joe Perrizo

Fri, 06/15/2007 - 14:00
We meet up with Atomlab rider Joe Perrizo at Spokane's Beacon Blowout. This guy does it all on a "Trail Pimp" hardtail, DH, Dirt Jump, Urban. Check out the giveaway!! During this shoot some of Spokane's finest showed up at the skate park wondering why a rider was wearing a police parka. It didn't help that we were lighting the shoot with the spot of a decommisioned police interceptor. Anyway, they didn't say a word and seemed to leave impressed, or at least impressed that we were not doing anything to wrong.

WBTJ & Transition Bikes

Sun, 04/01/2007 - 12:57
The first part of this podcast features a great dirt jump/slopestyle contest put on by TAOW productions and Aaron Lutze. The Wham Bam Thank You Jam was held in an indoor motocross shed just west of Portland, OR. The lighting was bad, but the event sizzled with a ton of great tricks being thrown down by both Ams and Pros.

27 with Erik Svege

Fri, 12/15/2006 - 16:46
We hooked up with Erik Svege and his buddy Don Kleindl at 27. 27 is a somewhat secret trail in Western Washington. It's the kind of place you find because someone took you there. Erik has a larger part in the up coming Bones Over Metal movie, but in this pod he shows us the trail the he and his buddies built. Erik also is a great skier and does product testing for Dakine.

This episode was shot in HD and MiniDV

The Jumps: a mini-doc

Mon, 09/18/2006 - 16:11
Early in the summer of '06 the Seattle area weekly The Stranger published an article about illegal dirt jumps discovered at the edge of one of the city's more affluent neighborhoods. The city of Seattle found these jumps by accident while doing an erosion check. The jumps were in a conservation area. But the area had been overlooked. This green belt was loosing the battle to invasive plants and had become a gathering place for the homeless and drug users. The riders felt that it was a perfect place to build their jumps.

The Bones Over Metal crew caught up with Rama Fire the rider who was responsible for the dirt jumps. We also got a chance to talk to Jack Tomkinson of Urban Sparks.org Urban Sparks is working with Rama and his crew to get the city to see the positive side of the dirt jumps.

For more information on their effort check out the Urban Sparks website.

Mike and Grant Show

Tue, 08/29/2006 - 16:54
We caught up with Mike Metzger and Grant Brashers at their Becon Hill Riding Spot. 09/05 This was the very first Bones Over Metal shoot. At this point we didn't know that we'd be coming out with a movie and that the podcast would do so well it would become a beast of it's own.

We had a lot of help with this shoot from David Evans for Fride Swag.com
